Eric has been engaged in high-level strategy for leaders and executives, starting as deputy press secretary for the Governor of Florida at age 21 before becoming gubernatorial chief-of-staff in Pennsylvania at 34. He also has served as a speechwriter, policy advisor, and/or legal counsel to dozens of governors, U.S. senators, and presidential candidates, starting when he worked in college as a speechwriter in Jimmy Carter’s White House.
Working with governmental, political and non-profit leaders across the United States and abroad, Eric has developed a unique top-to-bottom approach to strategy and strategic planning.
This starts with understanding the over-the-horizons events faced by leaders and organizations – the dramatic changes that governments and economies will face over the next decade – and the ability to plan strategically to meet these proactively.
Eric is a recognized leader in this area, teaching graduate-level courses at leading universities on the future of government and the economy, writing regularly on these subjects for outlets ranging from the Aspen Institute and The Atlantic to US News & World Report and Foreign Affairs. His thinking has been featured in The New York Times.
You can read part of Eric’s vision of the future in his article, Democracy Disrupted – and watch him discuss it in more detail this interview with CNN’s Flora Charner at the Emerson College/Blanquera University Global Summit.
